The last couple of days into Santiago.
There is not a lot to say about these few days. There was not a lot to see as my head, and body, were bent to the wind and rain. By the end of each day I was soaked through, and even though I had waterproofed my boots it made no difference, and after a few hours I was squelching my way along with each step. I had a message from Jill, after my last day into Santiago, who was keeping an eye on the weather and she informed me that the wind had gusts of 80 kms an hour. The last two days the path is often through eucalyptus plantations. I won’t go into the environmental damage that this has done to this part of Spain, but with my memory of what transpired in our last storm just before I left you can guess I was planning each sprint through the sections of forest! Hello Janet
ReplyDeleteChristmas Eve as I write this... and summer has arrived, finally, in the Adelaide Hills. Thinking of you in your current climate/location ... and just thinking that I wouldn't mind a northern hemisphere Christmas for a change. So, enjoy yours Janet.... keep up the blogging...and v
travel well.
Thanks John. You wouldn't have liked the past few days - they were very midwinter Stirling type days. Just busy John, and a bit unmotivated with the blog because it is not doing what it is meant to! Will try and catch up with everything over the next few days. Hope had a good Christmas.
DeleteHoping all is well Janet.
ReplyDeleteAll is well - back on the road, and enjoying the fact that, apart from a few showers, the 90% rain has not eventuated! Cross that I didn't bring my camera! Will fill you in as to why when I get back. Have tried to buy one, but without spending a fortune they are not available - and there are no Ted's or Diamonds here - a real pain!
